History:
Joshua was born on Earth in the nation of Israel. For centuries, the Jews have been the target for hatred and discrimination. In 1914 when the Jewish nation of Israel was reestablished, the nation was the immediate target for attack. Hostile nations banded together to wipe these Jews off the face of the earth. Nevertheless, time and time again the Jewish people repelled these attacks. In recent years before the discovery of the Arcian system, the overpopulation of the earth made life even more difficult for Israel as more and more attempts were made to obliterate Israel. However, when settlements of the Arcian system began, tensions slightly lifted for Israel and hope was kindled that a new and lasting peace would be created. This dream was destroyed when the leaders of Earth hired the Apothos Military Corporation. While earth’s leaders ignored the cries of many people denouncing the unethical and illegal methods that the APM used, certain leaders who had ambitious designs against the Israeli people secretly made a deal with the APM to start sending troops to destroy certain people groups on earth as well as conquering the Arcian galaxy. Joshua’s parents were ambassadors for Israel who were killed in a supposed accident after testifying to the great evil that the APM was committing. After hearing the news of his parents death, Joshua made a vow to do whatever it took to take down the APM. Joshua rose high in the ranks of the Israeli Defense Force and soon became an elite commander. Joshua believes that the time for diplomacy is over, he believes that the nations of earth should rise up and destroy the APM. Joshua’s goal is to bring peace to Israel one mission at a time.

Joshua tensed as the chopper he was riding in dropped altitude. His squad of Israeli commandoes was on an important mission, well, all his missions were important, but this one was more so. A hostile nation to Israel was about to launch a warhead directly at Tel Aviv. If this team didn’t complete their mission, then thousands of people were going to die. David, his best friend and squad mate caught Joshua’s eye and nodded. Joshua relaxed slightly, with men like David in his squad, he didn’t have to worry about watching his back. Suddenly, the pilot yelled out, “MISSLE LOCKED ON! HOLD ON TO …! Before he could finish the sentence the chopper was hit by a rocket propelled grenade and sent the chopper spinning through the air. Fortunately, the chopper was not far from the ground and no one was harmed when the chopper crashed landed. The squad leader, Captain Judah, checked to see if everyone was alright while the chopper pilot spoke into his radio, “This is Eagle 1 we are down, mayday mayday! Request pick up! over” The radio crackled in response, “We have a bird in your vicinity that will pick you up immediately, be advised that you are still some distance from your objective and that there are multiple tangos around your position, over. Captain Judah yelled out to his team, “Well you heard the man let’s get moving! Set a perimeter around this helicopter now!” The six man team made their way out of the helicopter carefully, making sure not to step on any fragments from the downed helicopter. The helicopter was downed in an area filled with sand dunes, this blocked the team’s view if there were any possible enemies that could be a threat in the surrounding area. Joshua muttered to David, “I don’t like this, there could be a whole army on the other side of that dune and we would never know it.” David replied, “Well let’s hope that we can get out of here before we have to find out.” Captain Judah motioned for the team to come together, “Alright, here is the plan, the helicopter will be here in two minutes, in that time the helicopter pilot and his copilot will set charges on the damaged helicopter, the rest of you will set up a flat perimeter for the helicopter to pick us up safely, Joshua, you come with me.” As the rest of the men went about their tasks, Joshua asked the Captain what they were doing. “We, my friend, are going to find what is on the other side of that sand dune.”
Joshua and Captain Judah made their way steathfully up the sand dune being careful not to make unnecessary noise. As they made their way they heard a helicopter approaching. Captain Judah made the mistake of standing up as he spoke, “Well that must be our helic … ugh!” Before he could finish his sentence a shot had rung out and Captain Judah fell to the ground. Joshua quickly dropped to the ground and crawled over to the captain and felt his pulse … dead. Joshua slammed his fist on the ground only to dropp his head quickly at the sound of another shot. Joshua quickly backpedaled down the dune with the Captain’s body in tow. At the bottom of the hill Joshua threw the captain’s body over his shoulders and sprinted to where the helicopter was landing. Joshua waved off the questions of his squad mates as he made it to the helicopter, “NO time for questions, just get in the chopper!” The other complied without response. As the helicopter took off, Joshua warned the pilot that there were multiple enemies on the other side of the sand dune. The pilot nodded in response and flew low in between the sand dunes until they were clear of ground-to-air missile range. Joshua looked over to the medic who was checking the captain, the medic shook his head. David looked over at Joshua, “It looks like you are in charge now.”
Joshua looked at the men sitting in the chopper looking at him, waiting for his orders. There would be time to mourn the death of Captain Judah later. “Alright listen up! We are late for our appointment with a certain warhead. That means that we less time to complete our missions, but we still can do it, remember, the fate of thousands of lives now rest in our hands, it is up to us now! You all know what to do, any questions?” All the men shook their heads. Joshua sat back and waited.
Joshua started as the pilot spoke to him, “30 seconds to deployment.” Joshua nodded and stood up, he had been surprised that he could dose off at a time like this, but he shrugged it off. He yelled over the roar of helicopter’s engine, “30 seconds to deployment! Get ready! 20 seconds! 10 seconds! NOW! The team began fast roping down the side of the helicopter until they landed on the top of an inconspicuous looking two story building on the edge of the city. Unbeknownst to many people that innocent two-story building was the silo for a nuclear warhead. Joshua waited crouched until all of his squad members had safely landed on the roof of the building. Joshua waved to the helicopter pilot and the helicopter soared off into the distance. Joshua motioned his men into position over a roof entrance to the building. He spoke into his com-link, “Breach and clear on 3 … 2… 1…Now!” One commando kicked open the door while two others covered the men that made their way down the steps into the building. The team made their way into the second floor of the building to encounter nothing but an empty floor. Joshua bent down and examined the floor, he nodded, it was as they had expected, the floor was designed to open up to allow something to be shot from the ground level up. “Alright, the missile silo is located in an underground bunker underneath the first floor, let’s get in and out, preferably undetected.”
The team muttered their agreement and made their way down the second flight of steps to the first floor, which was just as bare as the second floor was. Joshua looked around until he had found what he was looking for, the elevator labeled, “RESTRICTED!” “Bingo!” Joshua muttered with a smile as he motioned for his team to follow him, “Ready your weapons, this isn’t going to be easy.” As the Elevator made its way down the team tensed as it prepared itself for whatever was going to be behind the elevator doors. As the doors opened two guards stood facing the elevator. Joshua quickly fired two rounds from his silenced Galil and eliminated the two guards. The team sprinted out of the elevator to avoid presenting themselves as easy targets. There was no one else in the hallway, so the team proceeded with caution. As they rounded the corner, they came upon a huge open area with the missile in the dead center pointed directly up with a countdown being given over the speakers, “20 minutes and counting.”
Joshua and his team made their way through the isolated launching area until they made their way to the entrance of the command center. Joshua motioned to the rest of his team to get into position, “Remember we want the creator of the missile, Hakeem Alibis, alive! Bang and clear on my mark, NOW!” As one squad member kicked open the door another through a flash-bang into the room. After the blast, the team pivoted into the room and quickly eliminated the disoriented guards secured Hakeem. Before they could gag Hakeem he spoke, “You are too late, what are you going to do, it is too late to change the coordinates, if you destroy the bomb you will kill thousands of innocent people in this town.” He spat in Joshua’s direction before continuing, “It looks like it is check mate for you.” Hakeem starting laughing before Joshua spoke, “No, we have something a little bit better than that. David do you have the virus ready?” David replied, “Yes sir, once we put the virus in the computer it will spread to every single computer in this facility deleting all data, and since this warhead is run by computer” David looked at Hakeem meaningfully “It will make it completely unusable.” Hakeem collapsed as he knew that his plan was foiled.
Five minutes later David had completed loading the virus onto the facility’s computers, “The job is done let’s get out of here.” Joshua spoke in agreement, “Alright men you heard him let’s move out.” The team made their way out the same way they came in with Hakeem in tow. The team’s radioman called the helicopter, “Eagle 2 this is Star 6 we are ready for evac over.” The helicopter responded, “This is Eagle 2 we are in position and are ready for you.” The helicopter touched down on the roof of the building to allow Joshua and his team to board. The helicopter, with the team on board, left just as quickly as it came disappearing into the darkness. “This is Eagle 2, we have the package our ETA is in two hours, over and out. As Joshua sat back in the helicopter he allowed himself a rare smile, the mission had been completed and thousands of lives had been saved.
