The slums were burning. Bodies were scattered everywhere. Several hundred civilians stood in a plaza where a statue of a war hero stood. They were all armed with whatever they could find-anything from sticks and clubs to hunting rifles. In the middle of the square was a single man who seemed to be leading the citizens. He was dressed in tattered old clothes and armed with an old revolver. He was speaking to the people. "Now is the time. We have to stand up to these traitors. They have invaded our home, and we will defeat them!"
Suddenly the air was filled with the sound of engines. The whole square seemed to turn where a group of Dreadnoughts could now be seen flying towards the group of people. The man yelled out above the engine noise, "Stand strong! It begins today!" One of the Dreadnoughts swooped down and chaos ensued. People began to fire guns and even throw sticks at the Dreadnought. The Dreadnought eventually pulled away from the mob of citizens. They cheered as the ship pulled away. Then suddenly it doubled back as the other two ships pulled in. Suddenly the air was not only filled with engine noise but now gunfire. People ran in every direction as bullets riddled the square, then the people began to fall to the deadly fire.
~3 hours later~ The battle was over. The bodies had been moved from the square and into the alleys. Now the citizens were being processed and imprisonned. Now one single Dreadnought was landing in the middle of the square. It glided forward, with every eye watching it. Finally it landed, and one man got out. It was a stretch to call him a man, for he had on full black armor and a helmet with a black face shield.
He walked forward to the officer in command. "Give me a report captian." The voice was electronic and very deep. The captain was obviously frightened. "All the rebels have either been rounded up or shot sir. We have their leader for you whenever you are ready, commander." The Commander remained silent for a moment, then said, "Very well. Bring him to my ship."
A few minutes later, two soldiers dropped the rebel leader at the commander's feet inside the Dreadnought. He knelt there, bleeding from the mouth (as he had fallen from his place on the statue when the Dreadnoughts opened fire). The Commander looked at him inquisitively. "For a sewer rat, you seem to show a lot of bravery." The man said nothing, so Commander continued. "Why is a man of such leadership and bravery living among scum." The leader looked at him, then said, "They're not scum. They're people unlike you." Commander chuckled. "And a bit of wit, too. You'd make a fine officer in my ranks." The rebel leader spit on the commander's shoes. "I'd never join you." The Commander laughed again as two men came in with a helmet. "That wasn't a request." The two men restrained the rebel leader and started forcing the helmet on his head. Now Commander was smiling inside his helmet. "I have special plans for you..."

The air was deathly quiet. The APM soldiers always hated how quite it was here, but the Commander ordered it, and anyone who disobeyed knew the consequences for their actions would be severe. The Commander was strolling down the halls of his newly acquired base. He felt proud in his achievement. In just a few short months, he had turned a rag tag group of imbeciles into a fighting force feared across Arcia. But now it was time to get serious. HE was here. It was not very often that the Commander was worried, but this was a different story. This was his commanding officer. Everyone inside the base was worried as well, because whenever the commander got mad or stressed it meant nothing but trouble for all his soldiers. The commander was lost in thoughts of how to impress his superior officer and how to make him feel welcome. Suddenly a soldier seemingly appeared from nowhere, making the commander come to a quick stop. "Watch where you're going you fool!" The soldier blushed and backed up. He didn't want to spend the night in the pit, essentially a time-out zone for the soldiers. It was a dark pit and deathly cold. It always felt like someone was down there with you. Finally the soldier collected himself and said, "Sir, General Drayton's ship is here." The commander was shocked. Why was he early? "Very well,'' said the commander as he hurriedly walked down the hall. He walked faster and faster. Finally a soldier called out to him. "Sir! Sir!" The commander kept walking, and the soldier followed him. "What is it soldier?" "I just want you to know we captured Kurt and Daniel. The commander stopped, grabbed the man by the collar, and yelled, "What?! What did you say?!" "I said we captured Kurdge and Darnelle…those two towns on the outskirts of Apothos." The commander felt a sense of disappointment. He had thought for a moment he had finally captured two of them. He turned to his soldier. "Sorry about that soldier. I thought you said something else. Thanks for the news, now get back to your station." "YES SIR!" And with that, the soldier took off at full speed. Suddenly, the commander's lieutenant, his right-hand man, came around the corner. Like the commander, he had all dark armor. Unlike the rest of the soldiers, however, he was the commander's friend, and he had no hesitation in asking any sort of question. "What was that about?" he said in a robotic voice. Commander looked at the ground as he walked. "Nothing. Just some unfinished business." The two of them turned aside into the commander's office, which was very richly decorated for even an APM officer. As the commander gathered things from around the room, he began to explain. "You see those pictures over there?" His lieutenant looked over and saw a board with 7 pictures. "Yeah. Who are they?" The commander walked over to the board and began to point at pictures. "Kurt and Daniel Fletcher. Two soldiers involved in several incidents around the galaxy that hurt us. This," he said as he pointed to the next one, "is Lucius Alar, an AU sniper who was part of the team the Fletchers were on. This is Orin, another member. This, Brandon Jacobs. He died just recently." The commander walked towards his desk, then suddenly threw a knife that landed in Brandon's portrait's head. "Good riddance. This is his father, and this is Elliot Danver, a scientist they took from us. I want to find them." His lieutenant looked at him with curiosity. "And how exactly do you plan to do that? If they're THAT wanted it's not like they'll just come out to play." Commander laughed. "Do you think I am that stupid? I know how to get them to come to me. We just have to give the AU a reason to hunt us down. Then they'll have to send their elite squad." The lieutenant now understood. At this moment, he decided to take off his helmet. "It's a little stuffy in here." It was him. The rebel leader. Commander was smiling inside his helmet. "And now that you're on my side, we'll draw them out and finish this war once and for all, but first we have to impress the high ups. Wish me luck." "As always, I know you'll do fine," smiled the lieutenant as the commander exited the room. Commander walked down the hall until he came to an elevator. He went inside along with 16 armed guards. The elevator took them to the top of the massive building the base was located in. There was a Dreadnought on the landing pad, and a man in general's uniform and surrounded by 8 hunters. Commander spoke first. "General Drayton. Good to see you again sir." Drayton was about 6' 5" and very well built. He had a stern face and a deep voice. "And good to see you as well," he growled, "how's all here at Base Theta?" "Going very well sir. Progress is on schedule and the program is working excellently." Drayton nodded and smiled. "So these new hunters are even better than before?" "Yes sir. Quicker. Faster. More agile. And smarter." Drayton's smile grew larger. "And the new technology you promised me...will it be ready to be moved soon?" "Yes sir. As soon as final checks are completed this week." "Excellent. And what about your new mission?" Commander knew Drayton would mention this. "Yes sir. Skull Hunter Battalion 001 has been sent to take out targets one at a time, and the trap is being laid." Drayton smiled. His plan was coming to fruition. He turned to the commander. "And soon it will be over as long as we work together." Commander was smiling inside his helmet again. "Yes sir. Now allow me to show you to your lunch sir..." And with that, Commander led Drayton to lunch while far away, several ships of Skull Hunters were on their way to various planets. Commander whispered to his lieutenant as he passes, "And so it begins." The lieutenant smiled, put his helmet back on, and then went back to his duties.

The air was damp and cold. There was a musty smell in the air. The floor was wet and slimy. Rats were here and there all over the floor. Suddenly, he awoke. He realized he was being dragged by two APM soldiers. As he was dragged down the hall, he heard screams and yells. He felt the grime and dirt on the floor. He wondered if this was the end…in this dark place. "Is this hell?" he thought. Suddenly he realized he had stopped moving. He was on some kind of device. The room only had one light, and it was shining on him and the device. "What is this thing?" he thought. He didn't have time to figure out the nature of the device, however, as at that moment, the door opened again. An APM officer in a black helmet and all-black armor came in. He wasted no time in coming right up to the man's face. "You are here today as a traitor. I could have you executed in a long and painful way right here and right now if I wanted to; but I'll give you one chance…WHERE ARE THEY?" The man was dazed and barely conscious. "Where are who?" Commander got right up in his face. "Where is Lucius? Where are the Fletchers and Orin? TELL ME WHERE THEY ARE!" The soldier slumped a little in the device, but finally looked up at the Commander. "I don't know who they are." Commander laughed. He turned away, then turned back around quickly and punched the man in the face. The man slumped. Commander went to a table and picked up a folder. "Do you think I'm stupid? Do you really think I haven't been tracking them before this? I KNOW YOU WERE WITH LUCIUS ALAR!" Commander threw down a folder, then opened it to reveal pictures of the man with Lucius Alar on the battlefield. The man looked sharply up at the Commander. "How did you get these?" Commander smiled. "That refinery had cameras everywhere. It was easy. And since you know Lucius, I assume you know where he and the others are. Now tell me…WHERE ARE THEY?!!!" The soldier was staring at the ground. "Private Matthews-you can tell me, or I can make you tell me." Matthews looked straight at the floor. He didn't dare speak. Finally, he once again looked up at the Commander. He spat at him and said, "I don't know what you're talking about." Commander turned to the two soldiers who had strapped Matthews in. "Begin the program." All anyone could hear for the next hour in those dark corridors were the screams.
