History: Colonel Daniel Saegan Fletcher was born during a relatively peaceful time in earth’s history. Daniel and his brother Lt. Colonel Kurt Fletcher pursued a military career in their nation, proving each to be adept soldiers and tacticians. They quickly rose through the ranks until becoming colonels in the top Special Forces units in their nation.
When the time came for volunteers for the earth alliance army to go to the Arcian System, Daniel and Kurt Fletcher were the first to enlist. After the defeat of the earth alliance, both were torn between the quandaries of the Arcian people. Should they be allowed to stay or be forced come back to earth? Is their cause really a worthy one? Finally after a few days of careful consideration, the two brothers decided to join the AU forces that were now just becoming aware of the existence of the APM.
The leader of the AU forces at the time recognized the talent of these two soldiers and placed them in high ranking positions. Before making their final commitments to the AU forces, Daniel and Kurt traveled back to earth one last time to make a plea to the military leaders that they not continue to pay APM as a hired army. However, the leaders of earth would not relent. Money and greed drove them to try to take over the vast resources of the Arcian System. The two were counter-offered positions in the APM army, but they refused on the grounds that they would not fight for such dishonorable causes.
As the present day neared, Daniel and Kurt returned to the Arcia United Corps, leaving their familiar earth and welcoming in the Arcian Solar System as their new home. These two soldiers were instrumental in the training of many of the AU soldiers. Now, as important as these men have been, they have been promoted to the ranks of Colonel (Daniel) and Lt. Colonel (Kurt). Both are refuse any positions higher than that, as that would require them to leave the front lines, something they never wish to do. The highest hopes of Daniel and Kurt are to bring freedom to Arcia, one mission at a time.

Sgt. Baker: “Five Seconds to deployment!”
Sgt. Baker yelled over the engines of the transport. Daniel tensed as he waited for the doors to open. As soon as the doors of the transport let down, the twelve man team was immediately hit by heavy machine gun fire. Sgt. Baker was the first to go. Daniel rushed across an open field, diving behind a fallen log just as anti-aircraft fire destroyed the transport he had only previously occupied. He surveyed the scene around him. Only six other men, including him were left to complete their mission. Corporal Barnes crawled over to Daniel.
Cpl. Barnes: “Colonel, what’s the plan? Half of our squad is wiped out, what should we do?”
Daniel thought quickly as he glanced to his right and left to spot the two story building they were supposed to capture and secure. There was an AA gun on the top of the building with two .50 caliber machine guns mounted in the two top windows with snipers interspersed throughout the windows and roof; it also had assault troops entrenched in the area surrounding the building. One thing, however, caught his eye, the balcony that was over looking the side and front yards, on which were two mounted M249 SAW’s. Daniel spoke into the com-link used to communicate between his squad.
Daniel: “Alright, listen up, we are splitting into two groups with three people per group; I’ll be leading one and Corporal Barnes will lead the other. Things are going to get rough real soon, so do exactly what I say. I will launch a smoke grenade directly in front of the enemy, and then Corporal Barnes’ group will quickly sprint to the balcony and use their grappling hooks to climb up and secure it. The corporal and one other man will use the two mounted machine guns, clearing out the resistance entrenched in the yard beneath them with the remaining men covering their back with suppressive fire. My group will wait until the area surrounding the house is clear while at the same time providing covering fire for the group approaching and securing the balcony. Once the outside area is secure, my group will enter through the balcony door and secure the building from the top down, any questions?....Alright! Commence attack plan in 30 seconds….20…10…NOW!”
Daniel launched a smoke grenade from his grenade launcher attachment on his assault rifle. Seconds after the plume of smoke raked through the air, Corporal Barnes’ group made their way to the base of the balcony. Daniel watched their progress through the smoke with his thermal goggles. Corporal Barnes tossed a frag grenade onto the balcony before swinging up to the balcony by using grappling hooks. The blast of the grenade threw three enemy soldiers clear off of the balcony allowing the group of three to climb up onto the balcony uninhibited.
Cpl. Barnes: “Balcony Secure. We’re preparing to clear the outside perimeter of hostiles as soon as the smoke clears, take cover.”
Daniel: “Affirmative. My group, prepare to breach the front door after the perimeter has been secured. We will take the building from the ground up.”
As the smoke cleared, Corporal Barnes group’s machine gun fire began tearing thorough the unsuspecting enemy soldiers who had not realized that they had been flanked. While the machine gun fire eliminated the threats around the building, Daniel’s team began picking off any enemy soldiers who tried to make their way to the roof or windows to attempt to flank Corporal Barnes’ Squad. Using his assault rifle, Daniel easily eliminated four soldiers before they knew what had hit them. Daniel gave the command for the breaching of the front door of the building.
Daniel: “Area is secure enough for breaching, my squad, begin frag and clear.” Daniel was on one side, one soldier on the other, and the last one in front of the door, one hand on the doorknob with the other holding a frag grenade. “NOW!” exclaimed Daniel. The soldier appended the door quickly while at the same time throwing a grenade into the building. In the explosion that followed, the three commandos rushed into the room surveying the damage of the frag grenade. Daniel spoke to the man next to him,
Daniel: “Did HQ give us a floor plan of the building?”
Soldier: “Yes Sir, four rooms downstairs, two stair wells, one leads up to the balcony, the other leads to the second story in which there are five rooms with a fire escape leading to the roof.”
Daniel: “Roger, Corporal Barnes, take your group from the balcony and secure the roof. We will meet you up there for extraction after we have secured the building. “
Corporal Barnes: “Copy”
As Daniel progressed through the building with his two squad mates close behind him, he made sure to update everyone on his team’s progress. As he turned into one of the last rooms on the first floor, Daniel spotted three enemy soldiers. He fired two quick shots into the second one, while his team members brought down the other two. As he made his way up the stairs he heard Corporal Barnes’ voice over the com-link.
Corporal Barnes: “Roof is secure; we are calling for an evacuation chopper now.”
Daniel: “Roger that, we are almost complete with securing the second floor; we will make it to the roof shortly.”
As he headed up stairs, Daniel noticed that there were five tangos hiding in the last room. After notifying his squad mates, he put a quick plan into action. He lined up his two team members against one of the two entrances into the room, while he took the other. Then, Daniel loaded a frag grenade into his grenade launcher, quickly pivoted around the doorway, and fired the grenade at the group of enemies clustered in the center of the room. The blast killed three and wounded the fourth; Daniel’s two squad mates finished the rest. Daniel and his team made their way up to the roof to regroup with the remainder of the squad.
Corporal Barnes: “Is the area secure?”
Daniel: “Copy, Area secured. Mission accomplished; let’s return to base.”
